Better tools for the work already feeding Atlanta.

Atlanta Food Systems is a student-led nonprofit exploring how simpler operational tools and better handoffs between local food organizations can make community food programs easier to run and help more usable food reach the places that can use it.

What we’re investigating

Useful alone. More powerful together.

We are exploring how better operational tools and handoffs can help local food organizations spend less time fighting systems and move more food where it can be used.

01

Inventory and intake

How food arrives, gets recorded, and becomes usable for the people an organization serves.

02

Surplus and handoffs

Where usable food gets delayed, lost, or difficult to move between people and places.

03

Coordination

Which connections between organizations are worth making only after a local tool works well on its own.

Starting with one real workflow and one local partner.

We’re reconnecting with local organizations and selecting a bounded pilot around a workflow an organization actually wants improved.

Our approach

Learn the workflow. Build the smallest useful tool. Pilot it. Measure it.

If a pilot works, we will improve it and expand carefully. If it does not, we will learn why instead of pretending a feature list is progress.

Are you a local food organization?

If your organization manages food, volunteers, inventory, pickups, or distribution, we would rather understand how you work than pitch you software.
